debating this issue will slowly open up these tards minds, dude. no matter wat, our reason will always win.casual christians are just athiests that still need the "jesus blanket". once they understand wat the truth is, then weve took a step closer to unifying as a race. human race/species.

I am into learning, but to be honest, I also think learning in the open is a very convincing way to argue as well... if you genuinely learn something... and have that eureka moment in full view... that's very convincing... more so than a lot of the language we usually associate with compelling arguments.

You seem to be into LEARNING. Not everyone debating wants to learn - including Roseboojse...there's a deep irony in that farewell posting. When you attack your opponent, make sure you don't turn into the very thing you hate...

right, but it's to the hell with the DOE right off. Uneducated Americans are preferable to importing uneducated Mexicans I assume.

Yes he would harden borders NOW, because this is what is needed. However, if you listen to his philosophy further, he also realizes that open border immigration will not be a problem once the country is out of debt and the economy is flourishing.

ironically, if you learn in public, and learn something other than what your "opponent" is insisting then it's very convincing and the most likely argument to convince someone else because it's quite visible what lead you to that conclusion.

The main thing is trying to get out of this win-lose attitude... or at least stretching the winning post far off into the distance. Happy New Year!

well yeah, but eventually you can argue for a definition of fact which leads to the rest, so its not pointless in that sense. Most will not change or change much but that's fine... in the sense that it's up to them.

yes, and good for you, I have learned a lot online because I'm not trying to convince others... still, I have not often changed any opinion I stated with some certainty, most things I include the q uestions I still have... just being honest.

ok, I'll spread the word... Ron Paul would dismantle the government and protections but still harden borders against the principles of liberty...!!!

On arguing religion, however, I'd like to say this. It is indeed pointless to argue religion. You can't win by citing facts when you argue religion. Faith always trumps any fact or theory you can come up with. Becoming an atheist is probably one of the hardest things I did, and it took me a good 10 years of questioning my religion to do it.

I have engaged in arguments only to change my point of view later on. I think it's absurdly childish to simply get online to promote your point of view and not be willing to realize you're wrong. I really don't think there are that many people that are that childish - it just takes more than a day or two to go through the process of realizing you're wrong.

I'll echo what Rozey says here, but also it's much easier to listen and learn from and with those who do not consider they have the only correct way to see. It seems much of the conflict and drama here is caused by the false belief that one must be in possession of all truth and reality, which of course is a nonsense, there is always more to learn. Those who want to learn often teach while they do so, and those who want to share what they know usually the most interesting and engaging.

Good response! Yes indeed. I like making videos in which I explain the few things I feel I understand well. But I like it even better to get responses from which I learn more. Some of the best friends I've made are those who have different but intriguing points of views. Cheers.
